BLOOMFIELD, Ind. — August 9, 2025
A Bedford man died Friday afternoon in a head-on collision on State Road 45 in Greene County, authorities said.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Office said William Brand, 41, was traveling north near mile marker 27 when his 2010 Chrysler Town and Country collided head-on with a 2021 Ford F450.
Deputies responded to the crash at 2:40 p.m. Brand was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.
The driver of the Ford was taken by Greene County EMS to IU Health Bloomington Hospital. Their condition was not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
Assisting at the scene were the Indiana State Police, Eastern Greene School Police, Eastern Greene Fire Department, Greene County EMS and the Greene County Coroner’s Office.
