
The incident occurred just before 8 p.m., in the 500 block of Faller Avenue, near 5th Street.
Officers were called to the area for a report of a shooting and said they arrived to find a 15-year-old male who had been struck by gunfire.
Police said he is expected to survive his injuries after being transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Investigators said they learned that the victim and three other juveniles were approached in the 300 block of Faller Avenue and questioned about gang affiliation. The group denied any gang involvement, but said the suspect followed them a few hundred feet until he fired at least one shot, hitting the 15-year-old.
With the aid of witness statements and video surveillance, officers were able to locate the suspect and serve a search warrant.
He is identified as Julian Marco Ulloa of Sanger, who recently turned 18. He is believed to have gang ties and is known to law enforcement.
Ulloa was booked into the Fresno County Jail on suspicion of multiple counts of attempted murder and negligently discharging a weapon.
