Victim tells police her husband choked her in Tulare domestic dispute

TULARE, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A woman in Tulare told police on Friday that her husband had choked her and threatened to kill her, prompting a response from the Tulare Police Department.

She also told officers that her husband owned several guns and did not know if he had injured himself.

Officers arrived at the home at around 8:45 a.m. and surrounded the building. SWAT and negotiators were also called to the address to help control the situation.

Police later established that the victim’s husband was not home at the time; he was located a short time later in an area nearby, officers say.
