On June 15, 36-year-old Whisper Owen and her eight-month-old daughter, Sandra McCarty, were in Fresno to visit family and to take baby Sandra to a doctor’s appointment.
The pair left town around 5 p.m. to drive back home to Elk Grove. That’s the last time anyone heard from her.
About a week after her disappearance, police said traffic footage from the day she left captured her SUV in Atwater, near Shaffer and Bellevue roads, around 8 p.m. Her brother, Richard Owen, said the footage captured her in a smoke shop parking lot changing Sandra’s diaper.
Now, police are saying their SUV was also confirmed traveling through Waterford around 9 p.m. before making its way to Highway 120, east of Escalon – about an hour’s drive from their home.
Anyone who has seen Sandra, Owen, or their SUV is asked to call 559-621-7000.
