MCCOMB, Miss. (WJTV) – Funeral arrangements have been made for the McComb police officer who was killed during an apparent murder-suicide.

Visitation for Sgt. Jason Blake, 39, of Jayess, will be held on Friday, August 15 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hartman Jones Funeral Home in McComb. Visitation will also be held on Saturday, August 16 at First Baptist Church McComb from 9:00 a.m. until services at 11:00 a.m.

The shooting occurred at a home off of Highway 44 on Tuesday, August 5. McComb Mayor Quordiniah Lockley said two people, including the off-duty officer, were killed and another person was injured. Officials believe the suspect, who was identified as Clay Paulk, took his own life.

Blake had served with the McComb Police Department for five years. He had previously worked with the Pike County Sheriff’s Office.

The injured victim was identified as Nicki Wilson. She was transported to the Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center (SCRMC) and is expected to make a full recovery.

According to preliminary investigation, Paulk, who had a previous relationship with Wilson, forced entry into the home before shooting Blake and Wilson with a shotgun. Following this, it is believed that Paulk killed himself.

Blake is survived by his wife, mother, four children, three brothers and one sister.
