COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) – The system over the Carolinas will continue to bring us cooler and overcast weather for the end of the weekend. Expect temperatures to rise into the upper 80s on Sunday afternoon, accompanied by isolated showers and storms. Winds will still be breezy tomorrow.

Next Week: Temperatures will remain in the 80s for the start of the week, but 90s return by Tuesday. Better rain chances will be in the forecast Monday-Wednesday as a tropical airmass moves over the southeast. A few of these storms could bring heavy

rainfall at times.

By the end of next week, the pattern will start to change. Rain chances will be slightly lower starting Thursday, and we will see more sunshine. This will allow afternoon temperatures to rise into the mid-90s by Thursday.

Tropics: The system over the Carolinas is no longer a concern for the tropics. However, the National Hurricane Center has added another area of interest near Africa. This system has a 50% of development over the next week. The second system in the mid-Atlantic has been lowered to 20% through next week.
