Emilio Fernandez was booked into the Callahan County Jail Friday for Sexual Assault of a Child in connection to the allegations.
A press release from the Clyde Police Department reveals the family members called police Thursday to report their concerns, and detectives were able to determine Fernandez was using a social media app to communicate with the teen a facilitate a meet up.
The Clyde Police Department is offering parents the following tips for online safety in light of this event:
1. Understand the Apps being used, know how to navigate them and their capabilities.
2. Set rules for the use of the Apps.
3. Ensure you children are not sharing personal information.
4. Have frequent conversations with your children about their App/online activity.
5. Always check the activity/messages.
Fernandez is now being held in the Callahan County Jail on a $75,000 bond.
