RIVERDALE, Md. (DC News Now)– One person was taken to the hospital after a fire broke out at a home in Prince George’s County Friday.

Just minutes before 11 a.m. on Aug. 8, firefighters with the Prince George’s County Fire and EMS Department were dispatched to a home in the 5700 block of 64th Ave. in Riverdale.

There, units found smoke coming from the kitchen of a two-story home.

Firefighters extinguished the fire.

The fire department said there were no reported injuries, but a person was taken to the hospital for medical evaluation.

The cause of the fire has not yet been released, as of Friday afternoon.
