Intel CEO responds to Trump's call for resignation
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Intel has responded to a social media post made by President Trump on Thursday morning, after its stock declined.

Trump’s Truth social post said Intel’s Chief Executive Officer was “conflicted” and called on him to resign.

The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment from KOIN 6 News. Later, they shared a letter that was sent to employees on their website.

“Intel’s success is essential to U.S. technology and manufacturing leadership, national security, and economic strength,” Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan said in the statement.

Tan said that during his more than 40 years in the industry, he has built his reputation on trust. He called some of the claims against him “misinformation,” and said he shares the President’s commitment to advancing national and economic security.

In a separate statement issued the same day, a spokesperson for the company said, “Intel, the Board of Directors, and Lip-Bu Tan are deeply committed to advancing U.S. national and economic security interests and are making significant investments aligned with the President’s America First agenda.”
