The PNY Geforce RTX 5080 Graphics Card Is Available at MSRP from Best Buy, But You Better Hurry

Compared to the previous generation cards, the GeForce RTX 5080 is about 5%-10% faster than the RTX 4080 Super, which is discontinued and no longer available. For a generational upgrade, the minor performance improvement is definitely a disappointment. However, at launch price, it was the same cost as the RTX 4080 Super, which still made it the obvious better choice. The problem was that at the time, you couldn’t find one in stock and thus would have to pay upwards of $1,500 from a private seller. At least that is no longer the case.

The RTX 5080 itself is no performance slouch; it’s one of the fastest cards on the market, bested only by the $2,000 RTX 5090 and the discontinued $1,600 RTX 4090. This is still a phenomenal card for playing even the latest, most demanding games in 4K resolution at high settings and ray tracing enabled. The RTX 5080 supports DLSS 4, which is an improvement over DLSS 3 by adding multi-frame generation, which means you can push even more frames out of games that support the technology with minimal visual compromise.
