SOUTH JORDAN, Utah (ABC4) — A Taylorsville man has been charged after threatening to shoot people or use a bomb at a drug rehabilitation and mental health center that he previously attended.
Adrian Jared Lindsay, 38, of Taylorsville, has been charged with one second-degree felony count of threat of terrorism with the use of a weapon
According to court documents, the South Jordan Police Department was contacted regarding a former client of a drug rehabilitation and mental health center in South Jordan. The reporting party, also a client, told police that he had received threatening messages from Lindsay directed toward the rehabilitation center.
Lindsay allegedly wrote that he wanted to bring a “gas-powered fully automatic rifle” to the rehabilitation center and “unload round after round into each and [every] soulless site.” The reporting party called Lindsay after his threats, during which Lindsay allegedly stated that he would “probably use a bomb instead.”
Another client at the rehabilitation center reported that Lindsay had told her about his desire to “exterminate” individuals from his group at the center and “hold other at gunpoint to watch them beg for their lives.” The two reporting clients provided police with screenshots of threats.
Employees at the rehabilitation center confirmed that they were aware of the threats and the director authorized the center to be listed as victims of Lindsay’s threats on the police report.
Lindsay was facing another felony charge for endangerment of a child or vulnerable adult at the time of this incident. He was out of jail on the condition that he did not violate any laws. Lindsay was arrested and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for violating that condition.
