Rare uniform worn by LSU sports legend Pete Maravich in movie up for auction
BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — You could own a piece of history involving an LSU legend. A basketball uniform worn by “Pistol” Pete Maravich during a movie is available as part of the Lelands Summer Classic Auction.
Maravich, known as an LSU basketball star and NBA Hall of Famer, wore the Army basketball jersey in the 1979 film “Scoring.” According to Lelands, Maravich faced off against a fictional female basketball team in the movie as a part of the Army basketball team.
The starting bid for the jersey and shorts set is $2,500, and your chance to own it ends at 10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16. Click here to see pictures of the uniform or place a bid.
Maravich averaged over 44 points over three seasons with LSU and remains the all-time leading scorer in the history of NCAA men’s basketball.
