BATON ROUGE, La. (
Louisiana First) — The Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested a man who is described as a “career criminal” on several drug distribution charges.
On Aug. 1, Malcolm Jackson, 53, of Plaquemine, has been charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute hydrocodone, possession with intent to distribute Xanax, creation or operation of a clandestine laboratory, possession of drug paraphernalia, and transactions involving proceeds from CDS activity.
Before his most recent arrest, the Plaquemine man was sentenced to seven years and ten months by a federal judge. He spent time in prison for conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute cocaine, as well as possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
On Jan. 17, Jackson’s sentence was reduced by former President Joe Biden, allowing him to return to Iberville Parish.
After his return, Jackson reportedly began involving himself in illegal drug activity, leading to his arrest.
