NATCHITOCHES, La. (WNTZ) – A Natchitoches man is facing multiple drug and firearm charges following a lengthy investigation by local and regional narcotics agents.

On August 4, 2025, agents with the Natchitoches Parish Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU), the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Bureau, and the Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Tactical Narcotics Team arrested 44-year-old Jacoby Helaire of Natchitoches on active warrants during a traffic stop on La. Highway 1 North.

Following his arrest, authorities executed a search warrant at a property tied to Helaire in the 100 block of Carolina Avenue in Powhatan. During the search, agents reportedly seized 260.5 grams of methamphetamine, 441.5 grams of marijuana, 68 ecstasy tablets, five firearms, and drug paraphernalia.

Helaire was booked on the following charges:

• Distribution of Schedule II CDS (Methamphetamine)
• Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
• Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of CDS
• Possession of CDS II with Intent to Distribute (Methamphetamine)
• Possession of CDS I with Intent to Distribute (Ecstasy)
• Possession of CDS I with Intent to Distribute (Marijuana)
• Expired Driver’s License
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Helaire is currently being held at the LaSalle Corrections/Natchitoches Detention Center.
