Mount Morris woman injured in crash with Oregon teen

OGLE COUNTY, Ill. (WTVO) — Police say a Mount Morris woman was injured in a crash Tuesday after a 16-year-old Oregon driver failed to stop and hit her as she was turning.

According to the Ogle County Sheriff, the 38-year-old woman was driving a black Dodge Caravan on westbound IL Route 64 and was attempting to make a left turn into the Mt. Morris Estates trailer park, at 3747 W. IL RTE 64, around 7:25 p.m.

It was then that a black Mitsubishi Lancer, driven by a male juvenile, failed to stop and hit the rear end of the minivan.

The woman was taken to OSF St. Katherine for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The teen was issued a citation for failure to reduce speed.
