According to the City of Lebanon Fire Department, just before 3 a.m., a fire was reported on the 100 block of North Blair Street.
When police arrived at the scene, they found a heavy fire throughout a local concrete cutting business. Witnesses reportedly heard an explosion and the business owner told police flammable liquids were in the building.
When firefighters arrived, they quickly worked to get the fire under control. Firefighters searched the office part of the building and ordered personnel out of the building.
Not long after, a metal section of the roof collapsed. No civilians or emergency responders were injured. The fire was under control within an hour after crews arrived on the scene.
An investigation into the cause of the fire concluded that a portable hydraulic machine in the workshop was the cause of the fire. A small fire began near the machine’s battery and spread to flammable materials nearby.
The fire was deemed to be accidental and the investigation is closed.
