CHICAGO (WGN) – A ground stop is currently in effect for all United Airlines flights heading to Chicago and other major airports across the country because of a “technology issue.”

The FAA’s website said all United Airlines flights bound of Chicago O’Hare International Airport have been grounded at their departing airports.

The FAA added Denver, Newark, Houston and San Francisco are also impacted by the ground stop.

United Airlines issued the following statement on the matter:

“Due to a technology issue, we are holding United mainline flights at their departure airports. We expect additional flight delays this evening as we work through this issue. Safety is our top priority, and we’ll work with our customers to get them to their destinations.”
