The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced on Aug. 7 that a recall for freeze-dried fruit snacks sold in Sam’s Club stores across the nation is now classified as a ‘Class I‘ recall. The FDA applies this status to recalls that involve products which have a “reasonable probability” of causing serious health issues.
The FDA previously announced in late July that Doehler North America, Inc. issued a recall for 15-count boxes of Member’s Mark Freeze-Dried Fruit Variety Packs due to the risk they may be contaminated with listeria monocytogenes. The FDA reports that more than 21,500 of these 15-count boxes bearing the UPC number 1 93968 50900 2 were distributed to 43 states between July 1, 2025 and July 25, 2025.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) reports that listeria can cause serious infections for people who eat food contaminated with the bacteria. Listeria can lead to potentially life-threatening health issues in young children, older adults and pregnant women. Symptoms of listeria can include high fever, stiffness, nausea, severe headache, abdominal pain and diarrhea.
You can reach out to Doehler Dry Ingredient Solutions, LLC by calling 770-387-0451 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST on Mondays to Fridays to reach its customer service line. You can learn more about the fruit boxes included in this recall by clicking here.
