BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Two Baton Rouge establishments are closing their doors after three years of operation.
On Wednesday, Eleven XI Baton Rouge owner Kinesha Brown announced its closure. She said the property owner decided not to renew the business’s lease.
“After months of difficult negotiations, the property owner has chosen not ot renew our lease,” the post writes. “This is a painful decision — not only for me, but for the entire Eleven XI family. What started as a dream has now come to an abrupt end, but the impact we’ve had on this community will not fade.
Eleven XI was an establishment located at 210 S. 14th Street in Mid City, near Electric Depot.
The owner described it as a place to offer Baton Rouge an “elevated nightlife experience centered around exclusive events, while bringing quality entertainment to the city.”
Brown thanked those who supported the establishment from their original location on N. Acadian Thruway.
“To our loyal patrons — those who supported us from our original location at Deuces Bar and Lounge and continued that support here at Eleven XI — thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your support has been the foundation of this business, and it has been an honor to serve you,” Brown said.
She also said she is looking for a new space to continue to serve the community.
“We are committed to finding a location that embodies who we are and meets the needs of the diverse clientele we serve,” the post reads.
Brown assured patrons who purchased tickets for future scheduled events would be refunded or have the option to enjoy the event at a different location.
Gallery 14, also owned by Brown, reported its closure. Both establishments were located in the same building.
