LA Willis, 58, was being directed away from the Kroger on Parsons Avenue Wednesday afternoon when he allegedly bit off the top of the security guard’s thumb, police said.
The security guard told police he was taken to the ground and that’s when Willis allegedly bit his thumb “and did not let go until part of his thumb came off,” according to the complaint.
Willis was familiar to the security guard, who said he’s interacted with him six or seven times in the 30 days he’s worked at the store.
Willis was given a $2 million bond and was ordered to stay away from the Kroger location, according to court records. He also must not make any additional threats and cannot possess a gun or ammunition.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 15.
