Cesar Delgadillo, 39, was arrested on criminal homicide charges Monday after state troopers were called to a home on Louis Circle in the St. John’s section of Butler Township, north of Hazleton for a reported stabbing around 6:20am.
A 13-year-old boy was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital – Hazleton where he was pronounced dead, troopers said.
Troopers said his adoptive father, Cesar Delgadillo, caused “multiple serious injuries to [his] head, chest, back, and hands over the course of several hours, not allowing the victim to leave.”
Delgadillo was taken into custody on criminal homicide charges and arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Daniel O’Donnell.
Bail was denied and he was committed to Luzerne County Prison.
