On August 4, officers were called to the 1800 block of 15th Avenue for reports of a burglary at a commercial building. The owner told authorities that a chain lock was missing when he arrived at his business.
The owner’s box truck, with thousands of dollars’ worth of tools inside, was missing as well, according to court records.
Officials found the truck in the 1600 block of Broadway. Police eventually found Wassilak hiding in a closet and took him into custody.
Wassilak had a warrant out for his arrest, officers reported. He was also charged with stealing vehicles in 2024.
He is charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, burglary, possession of burglary tools, criminal property damage and possession of methamphetamine.
