The Winchester Police Department announced on Facebook that the Mountain Parkway eastbound is closed from I-64 to exit 10 due to an overturned cattle trailer near mile marker 8.
Trucks were reportedly en route to help offload the cattle so that the wrecker service could clean the crash scene, the police noted.
Chief Thompson of WPD asked that commuters avoid the area during cleanup efforts.
Around 8:30 a.m., the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet estimated that cleanup could take four to five hours. Just before 12:45 p.m., KYTC confirmed that all lanes have reopened.
