Motorcyclist seriously injured in Manhattan crash

MANHATTAN (KSNT) – A 71-year-old motorcyclist from Manhattan was seriously injured after being hit by a truck on Tuesday.

The Riley County Police Department reports that officers were called around 7:30 a.m. on Aug. 5 to reports of an injury crash in the 400 block of Levee Drive. Officers found a Chevy Silverado driven by a 55-year-old Manhattan resident had hit a 71-year-old motorcyclist.

The 71-year-old was taken to an area hospital via LifeStar for treatment of major injuries. The 55-year-old was cited for inattentive driving, no proof of insurance and no proof of driver’s license.
