Mental health fundraiser kicks off next week in Topeka

TOPEKA (KSNT) – Pam Evans with the Family Service and Guidance Center joined the 27 News morning show on Wednesday to discuss the organization’s signature mental health fundraiser, Works of Heart, that’s starting next week.

The Works of Heart fundraiser will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Aug. 16. The fundraiser helps the organization serve people struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD and other challenges.

“A lot of fun, unique experiences with sports tickets, sports related art, jewelry, just a little something for everyone,” Evans said on Aug. 6.

Evans said the in-person tickets are sold out, but an online auction will be open for anyone to bid. She said the auction will have something for everyone. Evans said that some of the artwork being auctioned off is made by kids. Every bid will enter participants into a drawing to win $100.

The auction will include:

  • Art
  • Mugs
  • Pillows
  • Tote bags
  • Notebooks
  • Jewelry
  • Gift cards
  • and more!
