FORTVILLE, Ind. — A man’s attempt to meet up with a teenager ended with him being sentenced to more than 10 years in prison.

Nicholas Gant, 38, of Indianapolis was sentenced on July 24 after pleading guilty to multiple counts of possession of child pornography. A judge handed down a 25-year sentence, but Gant will only serve 15 years of his sentence in prison.

Gant was arrested on June 7, 2024, at Huck’s Gas Station in Fortville. According to court documents, Gant had reportedly been in contact with an individual he believed to be a 13-year-old child and planned a meet-up at the gas station.

Police approached the suspicious man and uncovered drug paraphernalia, a large pocket knife, and multiple sex toys. Investigators also uncovered a hard drive that contained numerous images and videos of child porn, according to court documents.
