Hot tub to blame for Mount Carmel fire

MOUNT CARMEL – A hot tub shorted out and caught the side of a house on fire here Tuesday afternoon.

The call came in just before 7pm at Locust and Water Streets in Mount Carmel borough.

Crews from the Mount Carmel’s four fire stations as well as from Natalie and Atlas, among others, responded.

A smoke column could be seen across town.

Firefighters made quick work of the blaze.

Damage could be seen at the rear of the home.

No injuries were initially reported.
