Deputies search for vehicle after pedestrian found dead in Stafford County

STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — A pedestrian was found dead after he was struck by a vehicle near Richmond Highway Tuesday morning in Stafford County, according to officials.

Just before 2 a.m. on Aug. 5, deputies with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Richmond Highway and Foreston Woods Drive area for a crash involving a pedestrian.

Upon arrival, deputies found a 36-year-old man, who had been hit by a vehicle, dead.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the man was walking on the right shoulder when a vehicle passing by struck him. Evidence at the scene suggested that a vehicle was possibly a white 2018 or 2019 Audi SUV.

The vehicle may have front-end damage to the right passenger side.

Deputies are encouraging anyone who may have witnessed the crash or additional details to call 540-658-4450.
