ASUMH names Sandra Massey interim vice chancellor

Arkansas State University-Mountain Home has appointed Dr. Sandra Massey as interim vice chancellor for academic affairs. Massey, a Jonesboro native and current resident of the Twin Lakes Area, began serving in the role in mid-July.
She will hold the position while the university conducts a search for an executive vice chancellor, who will serve as both chief academic officer and chief student affairs officer.

“We are so very fortunate to have Dr. Massey serve in this interim role at ASUMH,” said Chancellor Dr. Bentley Wallace. “Her extensive community college executive leadership experience makes her the ideal person to lead the college’s academic excellence and innovation initiatives during this transition period.”

Massey brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in higher education, including roles as chancellor at ASU–Newport and provost at Tulsa Community College. Her work has focused on student and academic affairs, strategic planning, workforce development, institutional rebranding, and organizational effectiveness.

She is also the founder of McRaven-Massey Coaching, a professional development and coaching practice aimed at supporting emerging leaders through challenges such as burnout, imposter syndrome, and leadership transitions.

Massey holds a Doctor of Education from Oklahoma State University and both a master’s and bachelor’s degree from Arkansas State University.

ASUMH welcomed her to the role and said it looks forward to her leadership during this period of strategic transition.
