Alexandria teen arrested for attempted murder in March shooting

ALEXANDRIA, La. (WNTZ) – Nineteen-year-old Peyton Payne of Alexandria has been arrested in connection with a shooting earlier this year near the intersection of 8th Street and Woodard Street

Alexandria Police brought Peyton into custody on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. The teen is charged with four counts of attempted second-degree murder stemming from a reported shooting on March 30, 2025.

Payne was booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center. Alexandria police did not release further details about victims or circumstances of the shooting.

This remains an ongoing investigation.
