(KRON) — One person suffered major injuries in a water tanker crash in Napa County Monday evening, according to Cal Fire.
The driver was on the 1500 block of Sage Canyon Road near Lake Hennessey when the truck rolled 50 feet down the hillside.
Cal Fire responded to the crash at about 6 p.m. Firefighters freed the person from the wreckage, and the victim was taken to the hospital by helicopter.
Spokesperson Jason Clay with Cal Fire’s Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit told KRON4 that the driver of the water tanker was not a firefighter and the truck was not responding to any fires in the area.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
