Rainy weather causes flight delays at Charlotte Douglas International Airport
CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — If you’re heading to or from Charlotte Douglas International Airport on Tuesday, you may want to check your flight status.

As of Tuesday afternoon, August 5, 100 flights have been delayed, and two have been canceled, according to FlightAware. The delays come as rain showers move through the area.

We could see anywhere from a tenth to half an inch of rain by Tuesday evening, with most of it tapering off around dinnertime. Cloudy skies will stick around overnight, with temperatures dipping into the mid-60s. The cooler 70s will hang around through mid-week, but rain chances continue into Wednesday. By Thursday, things heat up again with highs in the 80s.

Looking ahead to the weekend, expect a gradual warm-up with highs in the low to mid-80s on Saturday and Sunday. Rain and storms are still possible into early next week, with upper 80s.

What to do if your flight is delayed or canceled

Most airlines have apps or websites where you can manage your booking and rebook yourself onto another flight. If the app/website isn’t helpful, you can contact the airline’s customer service. If your airline is not able to rebook you quickly, check flights on other airlines or consider flying from another nearby airport. You may also be entitled to compensation.
