Combo Daguerre at The Bishop (Bloomington, IN)
Saturday, August 9
10PM
With special guest: Matixando
Brooklyn-based Combo Daguerre brings their hypnotic blend of French chanson, psychedelic rock, boleros, cumbia, and surrealist flair to Bloomington.
Led by Paris-born Olivier Conan (Chicha Libre, Barbès Records), the band features a powerhouse lineup from across the Latin music scene — Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, and Cajun country — each bringing a transplant’s cosmopolitan vision to Conan’s French-language songs.
Their debut album Fracassines dropped last summer, followed by remix collabs with Colombian legends Meridian Brothers. Their music also appears in the feature film Moi-Même by Mojo Lorwin and Lee Breuer (Gospel at Colonus).
Olivier Conan – vocals, cuatro
Adele Fournet – keyboards, vocals
Neil Ochoa – percussion
Felipe Wurst – guitars
Dan Martinez – bass
“Conan sings in French with the timbre and worldly wit of a latter-day Leonard Cohen.” — Songlines
