Elina DeLeon,35, and Vincent Delon,51, of Carriere, Mississippi are each charged with one count of government benefits fraud, officials said.
According to Louisiana Bureau of Investigation, they received a criminal referral from Louisiana Department of Health regarding allegations that Vincent and Elina DeLeon, both Medicaid recipients, allegedly concealed their place of residence and other information for purposes to receive Medicaid benefits.
During this investigation, it was discovered between March 2023 and June 2025, Vincent and Elina DeLeon presented false information by failing to accurately report their marital status, household income, and place of residence.
Agents learned the couple had moved to Mississippi two years before their scheme was discovered. As a result, the couple defrauded the Medicaid program of more than $162,000.
On Monday, agents arrested Vincent and Elina DeLeon and the couple was booked without incident at the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
