July 26 had marked the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, which is a landmark civil rights law in the U.S. that prohibits discrimination based on disability.
The law also ensures equal opportunities for individuals with disabilities in various aspects of life that includes: employment, public accommodations, transportation, and telecommunications.
“We want to share our wealthy information with mothers, caregivers, fathers… it doesn’t exclude because we are ‘Mothers of Butterflies,’ but anyone that is taking care of their loved ones that are exceptional,” said Neal.
”We’re covering everyone that has a disability. So it doesn’t matter what type of disability. It can be autism, it could be intellectual, paraplegic, quadriplegic so it doesn’t matter, but we have come together to form the Mothers of Butterflies and a family member can be a butterfly,” said Dugger Chambers. “So, we’re sponsoring the Gateway Church Disability Awareness Fair at our local church.”
The event is set to take place at the Gateway Church in Columbus at 6650 Buena Vista Road from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
