Microsoft Announces Xbox Game Pass August 2025 Wave 1 Lineup

Microsoft has announced Wave 1 of the Xbox Game Pass August 2025 lineup, which includes Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Aliens: Fireteam Elite, Citizen Sleeper 2, and more.

As revealed in a post on Xbox Wire, out today, August 5, is Rain World (Cloud, Console, and PC) across Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard. It’s a cute-looking indie adventure where you play as a nomadic slugcat, which looks less terrifying than you’d think.

Tomorrow, August 6, brings a quartet of games to Game Pass Standard subscribers, including dice-based RPG Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, wintry downhill racer Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders, MechWarrior 5: Clans and Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap — all for Xbox Series X/S.

This month’s headline addition, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, then arrives for cloud, console and PC for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers on August 7. This is the smaller, Baghdad-based entry starring street thief Basim, which returns the franchise to its city-set roots.

On August 12, Aliens: Fireteam Elite arrives for cloud, console and PC for all Game Pass members, including those on Ultimate, PC Game Pass and Standard tiers. It’s well-timed, turning up on the same day as the debut of new series Alien: Earth, which launches on FX and Hulu.

Finally, on August 14, a Game Preview build of roguelike kingdom builder 9 Kings arrives on PC, available via PC Game Pass.
