The incident occurred in the area of Orange Grove Road and Highway 49 around 3:30 p.m. on August 4.
During the investigation, police determined that Jaelyn Marie Breaux, 24, of Gulfport, and the victim had been involved in an argument. Police said as the victim began to walk away, Breaux accelerated her vehicle, turned the wheel and hit the victim. They said Breaux fled the scene.
Breaux was located and taken into custody a short time later, according to investigators. She was transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center, where she is being held on a $100,000 bond.
