Officers say they arrested 34-year-old Eric Alexander, a convicted felon with a documented history of firearm-related offenses.
Alexander was arrested after officers say they contacted a group of individuals loitering in the 100 block of South 10th Avenue near Smith Welding and Machine on Aug. 1 at around 9 a.m.
According to investigators, Alexander was one of the people loitering. After contacting him, officers discovered that he had a firearm, ammunition, a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
Alexander was taken into custody in connection with being a felon in possession of a firearm, a felon in possession of ammunition, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the police department.
