Estill County mourns loss of teacher, band staff

IRVINE, Ky. (FOX 56) — An Estill County teacher has died.

School officials announced Gabby Calvin’s passing on Tuesday, August 5. She worked there as a teacher and was a “cherished member of our band support staff for many years.”

“Her commitment to our students and school community leaves a lasting legacy,” Estill County High School officials wrote. “Our hearts are with the Calvin family during this incredibly difficult time. We recognize that this summer has brought a great deal of emotion for our students and staff. If you are struggling, please don’t hesitate to reach out to a counselor or a trusted adult.”
