Jar removed from black bear’s head
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) says a bear spotted in Bayfield County with a jug stuck on her head over the weekend has been freed and was safely relocated.
The bear was found Sunday afternoon and was chemically immobilized by wildlife professionals with USDA Wildlife Services staff. The jug was then cut off and removed.Following this, the bear was relocated into the woods, where officials say there is plenty of natural food and water this time of year.
According to the USDA Wildlife Services, the female bear was approximately two years old and weighed about 70 pounds.
A representative from the Wisconsin DNR says public reports of the bear were critical to finding the bear and saving her.
