HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Officials say New Hope Animal Rescue raised $25,441.00 with the help of a matching campaign from Audubon Chrysler Center in Henderson.

Officials say Audubon Chrysler owner Larry Bennett offered to match all funds raised by New Hope during the month of July up to $10,000. Campaign organizers hoped to raise a total of $20,000 for the no-kill animal rescue and the community helped the organization exceed its goal.

New Hope Founder Paula Hawkins says that the funds will be used to pay outstanding vet bills associated with sick or injured pets that have been surrendered, as well as cover monthly operating expenses such as monthly utilities and vaccines for the animals.
