According to the sheriff’s office, around 7:20 p.m., two deputies stopped at a home in Willisburg for a narcotics investigation. The deputies reportedly found that the resident was “trafficking synthetic drugs.”
The office said one of the owners came to the door and let out a pitbull-mix-looking dog. When the deputies asked the owner to put the dog away, it allegedly attacked a deputy, causing “multiple puncture wounds to his arm.”
The deputy tried to spray the dog with pepper spray, but when the dog did not release, the dog was shot to prevent further bodily injury.
According to a news release, the owners did not have veterinarian papers or proof of vaccination, and the deputy was taken to an area hospital for treatment and has since been released.
While searching the home, authorities reportedly found synthetic drugs, pipes, an unknown liquid substance, and suspected methamphetamine.
Anna Philip, 58, of Colvin Lane, was charged with harboring a vicious animal, trafficking in synthetic drugs, and drug paraphernalia. 65-year-old Danny Keith, also of Colvin Lane, was charged with harboring a vicious animal.
