Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz reported that the operation took place at 633 West Pulford Street, where narcotics detectives, with the assistance of the SWAT team, executed a search warrant leading to the arrest of Joel Raekwon Aggison and Tanisha Deonray Washington Aggison.
“The success of this operation is the result of our Narcotics Detectives and SWAT Operators planning, coordinating and executing proper tactics,” said Sheriff Guidroz.
The search of the residence and vehicles resulted in the recovery of five firearms, two of which were illegally modified to fire fully automatic.
Sheriff Guidroz emphasized the danger posed by individuals who not only deal in drugs but also arm themselves with illegal weapons.
Joel Aggison, 25, faces multiple charges, including possession with intent to distribute marijuana and fentanyl, obstruction of justice, and illegal possession of firearms.
Tanisha Aggison, 44, is charged with similar offenses, including possession with intent to distribute controlled substances and illegal possession of machine guns.
Authorities encourage anyone with additional information about the crime to contact the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office or Crime Stoppers, with the possibility of earning a cash reward for tips leading to an arrest.
The operation highlights the ongoing efforts of local law enforcement to combat drug-related crime and illegal firearms in the community.
