Antonio “Rosco” Padgett found his love for cooking by watching his parents as a kid. A few years ago, Rosco furthered his dream to professionally cook with Rosco’s Outdoor Grill and then the opening of his first Soul Food restaurant in Welch.
His goal is to serve good quality food like ribs, brisket, and collard greens to put smiles on people’s faces.
“It has been a long time coming, but we [are] finally here. As you can see, our second location. Without God none of this would happen, man. So I want to give thanks to the most High because if it were not for him, [there] would be no restaurants, nothing like that,” said Padgett.
Rosco said this was a 6-month process to fully open his second location.
The Tazewell location required a little more staffing than his Welch location. Rosco explained he has been passing along his cooking knowledge to the new staff members to ensure the same quality Rosco’s Soul Food no matter which location you go to.
