Temperatures begin to heat up: Expect a gradual warming trend as we move through this week. The week will begin on Monday with a partly cloudy sky. Temperatures will be a little below normal with lows in the upper 60s to lower 70s. Daytime highs Monday afternoon will return to the low to middle 90s over most of the area.
Expect the sunshine to stick around: Futurecast shows that we will see a clear to partly cloudy sky on Sunday night. Expect a mix of sunshine and clouds on Monday and Tuesday. While Futurecast shows a stray shower or thunderstorm will be possible, almost every other model shows that we will stay dry. So if you get some rain over the next few days, consider it to be ‘bonus’ rain.
Long-range outlook: Temperatures will continue to heat up this week and will likely stay hot through most of next week. Overnight lows will gradually warm into the middle 70s. Daytime highs will reach the upper 90s by the last half of this week, with slightly cooler temperatures returning during the first half of next week. It appears that upper-level high pressure will control our weather enough to keep most of the area dry from now through the middle of next week.
