BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office is investigating an apparent murder-suicide that occurred Sunday morning at a residence near Arleen Avenue and Watson Drive.
Deputies responded to the scene around 9:40 a.m. after receiving a call about a possible domestic-related incident.
The sheriff’s office identified the victims as Paul Varnado, 54, and Alanna Singleton, 53.
According to EBRSO, preliminary evidence suggests that Varnado shot his girlfriend, Singleton, before turning the gun on himself.
