Local Swimmers Mary Jo Augustine-Traver and Kevin Pieper Compete in National Senior Olympics


Two Twin Lakes area athletes represented Arkansas at the 2025 National Senior Games in Des Moines, Iowa, bringing home honors and showcasing the strength of local competitors on the national stage.
Mary Jo Augustine-Traver delivered a standout performance, medaling in all four of her events. She finished second in the 100-meter individual medley, freestyle, and butterfly, and captured first place in the backstroke, earning national recognition for her efforts.




Kevin Pieper also competed in the games, participating in multiple events and representing the community with pride and determination, as well as cheering on Mary Jo.

The National Senior Games, often referred to as the Senior Olympics, bring together thousands of athletes aged 50 and older from across the country. The 2025 games featured competitors in more than 20 sports, with swimming among the most competitive.

Local officials and community members congratulated both Traver and Pieper for their achievements and for serving as examples of lifelong athleticism and dedication.
