wedge of cool air over the area right now will weaken on Friday. This means warmer weather, with readings back in the upper 80s Friday afternoon.

Weekend: Temperatures are expected to bounce back into the 90s in time for the weekend. Plus, we will see a bit more sunshine in the afternoon. Isolated showers and storms remain possible through next week.

Tropics: Tropical Storm Dexter formed several hundred miles east of the Carolinas yesterday evening. As of 5 PM today, it is still producing gusts up to 60 mph. Over the next several days it will continue northeast, and it poses no risk to land.
