(KRON) — Crews have contained the Eden Fire in Castro Valley to 18 acres, according to Alameda County Fire Department firefighters. The grass fire burned in the area of Eden Canyon Road and I-580 on Sunday afternoon.
As of 7:15 p.m., crews contained the fire at 18.37 acres, Cal Fire said. The fire burned mostly grass. ACFD firefighters initially reported the fire had the potential to burn 100 acres, but crews were able to contain the blaze.

Cal Fire and East Bay Regional Park District assisted in the response to the fire.
