8-year-old killed in Jackson shooting, father charged

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – An eight-year-old boy was killed during a shooting in Jackson, and police said his father has been charged in the case.

The incident occurred in the 3600 block of Lampton Avenue on Sunday, August 3.

Jackson Police Chief Joseph Wade said Kuaron Hilliard, 29, left his son alone at the home, and the child found the unsecured gun and was shot.
